The main purpose of a connected alarm system is to prevent the high risk of loss of life and property caused by fire, intrusion, water damage and/or noxious gas emissions that can occur in homes, businesses and shops.

With the right protective devices, any devastating situation can be avoided.

The surveillance services offered by Taz Alarme, combined with high-tech security equipment, play a key role in saving lives in any emergency situation.

Taz Alarme deals with the sale, installation, maintenance and repair of equipment as well as after-sales service. The remote monitoring center processes and transmits the various alarm signals received and takes care of alarm follow-up.

The monitoring centers are located in Anjou and Mississauga, Ontario. The equipment combines the most specialized surveillance technology with an extensive fiber optic network. In the event of an emergency or disaster, one of our high-tech centers will take over, guaranteeing you uninterrupted service 24 hours a day.

Yes, almost all alarm systems are compatible with our monitoring center.

When your security system is triggered, an operator dials the number of the protected location. If there is no response or if the respondent cannot identify him/herself with a PIN, the operator calls the police department (according to established guidelines).

The operator is trying to reach a contact person on your call list.

If you are going to be away for an extended period of time, be sure to inform your contacts. When someone on your call list arrives on the premises after an alarm has been triggered in your absence, an exterior verification must first be performed before entering the protected premises. It is strongly recommended to wait for the police to arrive before entering the home.

For an effective response, contacts must remain in close proximity to the protected area, have keys to the doors, a code to arm and disarm the system, and a PIN to identify themselves.

Your Taz Alarme security consultant can meet with these individuals to explain their responsibilities and show them how to activate and deactivate the security system. We suggest that you review your call list regularly.

The siren will sound. In the event of accidental activation, remain calm. Enter your code on the keypad by pressing each key to deactivate your system.

If the alarm is unfounded, it is very important that you do not attempt to call the monitoring center directly as this will tie up your phone line and we will not be able to reach you to determine if the alarm is founded or not and will dispatch the emergency service to the scene. Wait for one of our dispatchers to contact you and, after giving them your password, inform them that it is a false alarm.

Following the activation of an alarm, Taz Alarme will not charge you for the reception at the monitoring center and the verification of the alarm, whether it is founded or not.

However, depending on your local municipality, there may be a charge for emergency service travel in the event that the monitoring center was unable to obtain confirmation from you that the alarm was unfounded or in the event that you forgot your password.

A few weeks before leaving your home, update your file with a customer service agent who will mail you a sticker with Taz Alarme’s contact information that you can affix to the home’s main keypad. When you are renovating your home and there is a high risk of a major accumulation of dust, mold or debris in the air, we invite you to follow these steps to avoid false alarms:

Protect and cover your smoke detector with a durable surface that prevents debris from becoming lodged in it.
Notify a technical service representative to allow for better management of all signals to your system during the scheduled renovation period.
